How to estimate the stone for your villa in five minutes, with the calculator

A practical guide to the quantity and price calculator: start from a villa like yours, choose the stone, finish and installation method, read the piece breakdown, and get the price, the pallet count and a link that keeps your calculation and goes with the order.

Most people who write to us ask the same question: how much stone does my villa need and what will it cost? The exact answer comes from the drawings, but a very close one comes in five minutes from the quantity and price calculator. This is how we use it ourselves.

1. Start from a building like yours

At the top of the calculator are ten standard Amman buildings: five villas from a compact single-storey to a large two-storey, three four-storey apartment blocks, and a version with a roof floor for both the family villa and the two-flat block. Each card carries the approximate stone on its four facades.

Pick the one closest to your project, then adjust the length, width and number of floors, and if the basement shows above ground on one or more sides, say so. The area changes at once. The calculator counts all four facades from half a metre below the ground floor to the top of the roof parapet, takes off the windows and doors, and gives villas 15% more for recesses and projections.

If you already know your wall area, type it in square metres, or the total length in linear metres, without the window and door openings. The pieces reset to zero so you can enter your own.

2. Choose the stone, the finish and the installation method

Stone and finish come from the two lists, and the finish photo on the chosen stone appears beside them. Then the choice that changes everything after it: traditional or cladding. In traditional work the stone is built with the wall and needs all its pieces; in cladding it is slabs only on the finished wall. The difference in detail is here.

Then the waste: 5% for plain walls, 7% for a typical villa, 10% for a facade with many corners and arches. Under cladding you also pick the thickness, 4 cm for Jordan or 3 cm for the Gulf, which changes the pallet count, not the price.

3. Read the piece details

Open "Piece details" if you are an engineer or a contractor. You will find the course height, the parapet coping, the outside corners and building height, and the window and door counts, all estimated from the building you picked and all editable. The rule behind the numbers is simple:

  • Every quoin or jamb is one course high and counts as one linear metre, one piece per course.
  • Every linear metre of lintel counts as three linear metres.
  • Sills are priced 25 cm wide and coping 30 cm wide.
  • The faces of these pieces come off the wall stone so nothing is counted twice.

For the family villa in Ma'an musamsam the breakdown reads: 1,974 lm of wall stone, 135 quoins, 252 window jambs and 57 door jambs, 51 lm of window lintels and 4 of door lintels, 51 lm of sills and 78 lm of coping. About 14,980–23,160 JOD, with roughly 579 m² of stone arriving on 29 pallets.

4. Read the result

In the green panel: the estimated price, the wall stone to order, the total stone delivered with pieces and waste, the pallet count, and the price line by line. The numbers are rounded because they are an estimate: quantities to the metre, prices to ten dinars. The price is for the stone only, without transport, and moves with quarry, fuel and transport costs; the figure that counts is the one in our written quote.

5. Share the link or send the order

Everything you chose is kept in the page's link: the building and its size, the stone and finish, the installation method, the waste and the pieces. Copy the link from the browser and send it to your engineer or your client, and the same calculation opens for them. Here, for example, is the family villa in Ma'an musamsam; try the same as cladding or in Ruwaished tubzeh.

When you are happy, press "Send the order". WhatsApp opens with the full breakdown and the link. Attach your drawings or photos of the building in the chat, and we take off the exact quantity and send the written quote with the price and the delivery date.
